~ calling all youth peer educators ~
interested in HIV and sexual health? passionate about the arts? aged 16‐29?!
Empower is an arts based HIV project the trains youth to become HIV peer educators in our own communities. this project is designed for youth, by youth in ways that are specific to our communities, cultures, and experiences.
you will learn how to use your stories and experience to create and deliver arts-based workshops and resources to your community. you will also have the opportunity to make digital stories that share your experiences of becoming a peer educator. and, better yet: you won’t be doing it alone. every participant will be matched with a youth mentor.
to be eligible you must:
~ be 16-29 years old
~ be living or sleeping in Toronto
~ have an interest in sexual health, harm reduction and HIV education – no experience necessary!
~ be available for training twice per week (Monday & Wednesday in October and December, Wednesday & Saturday in November)
~ facilitate your workshop between January and March 2015
participants will get an $$honorarium$$ for facilitating their workshops and for each training they complete. ttc tokens and food will be provided.
