Our Stories

Empower Youth Digital Stories In addition to building workshops for our different communities, each Empower participant creates a digital story where they share narratives exploring their work as HIV peer educators. These stories connect to HIV in indirect and direct ways: the stories explore challenges with homophobia and transphobia, finding community, issues of race and gender, about accessing resources in rural communities, disability, loss, colonialism, peer pressure and more. They speak to HIV prevention in a way that goes beyond just using a condom or a dental dam and speak to the many issues and challenges that youth face in accessing resources and making decisions around our bodies and communities. For a screening in your community, please contact us kapong@ctchc.com ******Trigger Warning: While these stories are full of hope and beauty, some of the stories contain descriptions of violence, and can be difficult to watch. Please click the VIMEO tag in the bottom...
